ABOUT APEX

Apex was created by two massage therapists who have worked together, traded massages, shared ideas, and stayed connected throughout their careers.

Between the two of us, we’ve taken a lot of continuing education — some classes that were incredibly useful and others that left us wondering what we were supposed to do with what we just learned.

We started Apex because we wanted to create the kind of continuing education we’d actually want to take ourselves: clear, practical, approachable, and useful in real-world practice.

Our goal is to give massage therapists the knowledge and hands-on skills to feel comfortable incorporating new techniques into their work — not just another certificate to add to the wall.

We’re starting with manual lymphatic drainage and plan to expand our courses as Apex grows.

FOR MASSAGE THERAPISTS BY MASSAGE THERAPISTS

Bryan Molano

Bryan has been a licensed massage therapist in New York State since 2004, bringing over two decades of hands-on clinical experience to Apex Bodywork Collective. His path into bodywork was shaped early by a background in martial arts and fitness — a foundation that gave him a lasting respect for the body as a system of mechanics, movement, and adaptation long before he ever touched a treatment table.

That respect for how the body actually works never left. Bryan has always approached massage therapy with an insatiable curiosity for the underlying science — anatomy, physiology, and the "why" behind every technique — and that curiosity is the driving force behind Apex's entire teaching philosophy. Continuing education, in his view, should never be a box to check. It should sharpen the clinical thinking that makes therapists genuinely better at their craft.

Bryan is also the founder of Capricorn Bodyworks, his private medical massage practice in Chelsea, Manhattan, where he continues to treat clients using the same evidence-based, detail-driven approach he now brings to the classroom.

Lisa Monyihan

Lisa Moynihan is a licensed massage therapist based in New York City with a decade of experience helping clients feel their best. She believes the best recovery happens in the comfort of your own home, which is why she has dedicated her private practice to bringing tailored, therapeutic sessions directly to her clients. Her work specializes in deep tissue, lymphatic drainage, and lymphatic sculpting.

Lisa began her journey in bodywork at the Swedish Institute after earning her BA from Georgia State University. Over the past 10 years, she has continued to refine her technique, and her practice now takes her into homes throughout New York City. Her goal is to make every session both effective and restorative.

When she’s not working, Lisa is usually chasing the seasons — skiing in the winter and gardening in the summer. She loves spending time with her dog, Wray Charles, and, in her own words, she’s almost always hungry and looking for her next great meal.
